Expected Outcomes

  • To provide new hope to ALS patients and their families
  • To demonstrate that mitochondrial dysfunction can be addressed in man through a ‘proof of concept’ trial
  • To gain a better understanding of neurodegenerative diseases
  • To assess that the mitochondria is a key player and a common feature of neurodegenerative diseases as well as of significant interest for neuronal plasticity
  • To ensure translation ‘from the bench to the bedside’ through R&D on a new class of mitochondrial targeted compounds that may be of interest for the treatment of all / several neurodegenerative diseases.
